Building a Climate-Just World

The climate is changing. The communities hit first are the first to respond and the first to adapt. To survive and thrive on a warming planet they need voice, power, and the opportunity to innovate. Our grants help these communities create and share their own solutions for resilience, driving transformational change from the grassroots to the global level.

What CJRF Is Learning from Loss and Damage Projects

CJRF’s new Learning Brief with Greenhouse Communications highlights what we’re learning from Loss and Damage (L&D) projects—showing how communities rebuild livelihoods, address non-economic losses, and lead more just responses to climate impacts. It finds that locally led L&D efforts strengthen broader priorities like adaptation, resilience, health, and livelihoods, helping shape CJRF’s evolving approach to supporting those most affected.

Visualizing Loss & Damage: Seeing Climate Realities Through Art

How do you show what can’t be measured: loss of home, identity, or belonging? Our Visualizing Loss & Damage series, created with artist Victor Ynami and inspired by the CJRF-funded UNU-EHS report, illustrates how CJRF partners from Bangladesh to Alaska to Fiji are navigating climate impacts and driving community-led solutions.
