Through the Eye of the Needle: Amplifying Voices of a New Generation

To successfully navigate the current climate crisis, society must transition from exploiting natural resources to increasing knowledge systems that stem from living in relationship with our planet. Our $300,000 in support helps the Alaska Venture Fund develop a program of workshops, artwork, and online content that amplifies Alaska Native stories, values and teachings and elevates the next generation of Indigenous leaders. Named after a traditional Yup’ik coming of age story, the program highlights the voices and narratives of Indigenous people who are focused on reclaiming cultural knowledge and advancing social justice.
