A Place to Unite

Often, projects aim to develop the leadership of women. Yet rarely do funders invest in the physical space needed to support such goals. Our grants, totaling $238,000, support the Women’s Climate Centers International as they establish “one-stop” local women-led climate centers. Within these spaces, communities will chart pathways to climate resilience for their communities through peer learning, leadership development, livelihoods adaptation, and advocacy. The centers will also support low-cost adaptation technologies and entrepreneurship training.

Why Women’s Climate Centers International?

By building each local center within a regional and global sisterhood, this model maximizes a network that can provide support in communications, fundraising, business development and technical resources. The model makes scaling up, replicating and avoiding pitfalls easier, and leads to stronger and more holistic women-led climate justice work.
