Women Respond to Climate Change Together
When women come together with a shared vision, they get things done. Our $30,000 grant to Women’s Climate Centers International supports a week-long planning meeting to advance a global network of local Women’s Climate Centers, starting in Uganda and Kenya. Together, the partners in this effort will establish leadership structures, processes, and a five-year plan. Goals for the centers include peer-to-peer learning, leading with community knowledge, adaptive practices, and locally responsive trainings.
Why Women’s Climate Centers International?
Women’s Climate Centers International empowers women to become climate movement leaders. Through their gatherings, trainings, and knowledge-sharing, women in the Global South gain the networks and tools required to create and implement climate resilience solutions.
