CJRF’s Solution Series aims to share the work of our grantee partners and learn how climate resilience is built and strengthened through the efforts of communities on the front lines of climate change. In 2022, five partners took the opportunity to present to CJRF’s community and share their strategies for building resilience in partnership with vulnerable communities.

In May of 2021, CJRF’s previous board—made up of representatives of our funding partners—decided to pursue a more participatory grantmaking structure. On November 12th, at COP27, we announced our new practitioner-led governing board.

The issue of climate-induced loss and damage (L&D) is coming into its power as a movement—far beyond proof of concept. Although it’s been a budding idea for decades, it became a reality in the lead-up to the Paris Agreement. Now it is experiencing a growth spurt and is pushing against the status quo, demanding to be heard and respected.
